![]() Sisters - Kena Hill on the left; Amber Hill on the right. Kena, I've lost track of the years! Hope this August 24th birthday (whichever year it is) is the best one ever. Is Griffin still playing guitar? Are you coming home for apple butter making in September? I remember the kids really enjoy that family time. LOL (Lots of Love) Betty Sue Zack Collier 08/20/2010
Zack is having another back surgery today in Kingsport. Remember him, too. Our family (young and old) is falling apart!!! Kidding! Zack, hope this gets yo Update on Giles 08/20/2010
Donna has reported that Giles is doing well; he has been walking and if his "pipes" are in working order by tomorrow, he will most likely be released to go home. It doesn't appear that he will have to have chemotherapy treatments! That is great news. Thanks for the prayers and for your comments. Hang in there brother! P.S. Today, August 20, Mom would have been 88 years old. We can only imagine how she must look and feel today without pain, without tears, and with arms and legs in perfect working order. Amen? LOL Betty Sue Remember Giles Tomorrow 08/17/2010
Giles we be having surgery tomorrow, August 18th. Be sure to say prayers for him and let him know we're wishing him a speedy recovery. Posted: Betty Sue The Reunion is Now a Memory 08/16/2010
And it will always be a very good memory. It's always sad, though, to leave the home place and the siblings and return to the "every day routine". We missed Kathy Gail terribly (especially being a part of the choir at the memorial service). Also missed Rick and Giles. I have posted a few pictures below. Hope to get some from Amber - she is a professional photographer! Check on the photos page in the next few days. It was so good to see all the nieces and nephews who came!!! We had a great time practicing with the limberjacks, telling stories, and clogging. LOL Betty Sue Missing the Reunion 08/16/2010
It was a hard decision that I made not to attend the Family Reunion last weekend. Those times are as special to me as to the rest of you, and I could have used the renewal of spirit that I always get during the family gatherings. However, I know it was the right decision since I am not yet "myself" again after last month's surgery. I walk like a very old woman because of the stiffness in my back and honest, at the least little provocation I become vicious! I don't know what that's all about, but I do know you all were better off without me this time around! I look forward to seeing pictures. Hint, hint! by Kathy Gail Happy Birthday, Jayden Chester 08/12/2010
Jayden, can't believe how fast you are growing - 9 years ago we were all oooing and awing over a brand new baby boy named Jayden! My favorite memory of you, Jayden, is one at Thanksgiving when you were 4 years old. I made angel biscuits (named because the yeast makes them rise and bake up light and fluffy). You asked what I was doing and as I was telling you I was baking angel biscuits, I opened the oven door to see if they were browned. You saw the biscuits and in wide-eyed innocence, asked "When do they turn into angels"? What a beautiful memory of you. But I will never forget that when I laughed, you ran away because you didn't understand what was so funny. I'm sure you know now what angels biscuits are because your Nanna bakes the best ones in the world! Have a happy birthday today and enjoy your party this evening ---- oops, was that a secret? Keep drawing, Jayden; you are already a terrific artist, but there are many, many more opportunities ahead for you. Who knows, you may be a cartoonist for ABC or NBC some day. Love you!
