Looks like a fun week for everybody.Memories! Memories! Memories!
Beautiful grandkids, Kathy Gail. Are you resting up for next year?
I know you enjoyed having the grandkids. They are so special and grow up so fast. Enjoy them while you can. Remember how much fun we used to have at Grandma's.
I am looking forward to the memorial. Hope we can have plenty of quality family time.
The quiet is killing me since the grandchildren left!. Benson has been looking all over for them. He is so depressed he only lifts his head to beg me to take him outside for another look. I know how he feels!
It is good to have things to look forward to in the near future. Otherwise I would be worse than Benson. The fourth class in my masters program begins Wednesday. The memorial will be here before we know it. My 45th high school reunion is the last weekend in August! Another trip to Uncle Pat's?? Apple butter making. Staying busy is really important.
Kathy Gail, I know how you feel. Such an empty feeling when it's all over. Try to cheer up . If you were here I'd let you share in all my garden work. Brings you out of it real fast.
What a beautiful fall like day it has been here. I picked beans this morning over in the "holler' which is where Barry's garden is. I really enjoy my quiet meditating time. Gillis did come over just to make sure a bear hadn't come for a visit. We do have bears around here, you know. Last week at the flea market a bear came out of the woods and sat there on the hill checking out the crowd. I know he was looking for the fattiest, juciest meal and one that couldn't run fast so I'm glad I was on the other end of the lot and he didn't see me. Could have been bad !! .Not only did I have to pay to set up and didn't make any money but I could have been eaten by a bear all in the same day. :-)
Jan, watch out for those bears!
Today, I will can the pickled beans, corn and cabbage that has been fermenting for about 10 days. Whew! The house smells like Mom's kitchen!
Everybody reading this today say a little prayer for a safe trip for Amber and family traveling home from Florida. It's a long trip and I know they are tired from all that fun at the beach.
Betty, I'm making mixed pickles today also plus a little krout. I will can some cabbage for Barry. I don't know how the cabbage will be but we are giving it a try because we planted so much this year. I'll probably run out of steam before I get all this done. Monday I felt better than I had in a month of Sundays but yesterday I felt bad all day so we'll see how today goes. My ankle that I hurt when I fell a while back is giving me heck. Shoot!! I'm afraid my clogging days are over.
