Annual Apple Butter Making Tradition - Home place on Bold Camp
Good crop of apples this year. Rick brought home 12 bushels of Ida Red from Winchester, Virginia. The apple butter making 2010 was the best ever. 235 pints of beautiful and tasty apple butter. The nieces/nephews and the great nieces/nephews started some new traditions in an effort to keep us old folks healthy. Shana and Lindsey wrote a new "apple butter blues song" with some great and funny lyrics. The melody was good, too!
"Passing it on" is a lot of fun. Oh, yeah, it is hard work, too! But it's worth it.
I got a few pictures: Hope to get more of the actual canning process, but everybody was too busy during that time to take pictures. When I get more I will post them under the photos page.
